Flip Flops Finally

by Aaron on December 28, 2010

As I write this at the Tapachula airport there is a biting reality of where we are and what we’re doing.  It’s the tiny little gnats that have found me standing beside Charlie Banana.

They serve as annoying yet welcome reminders of our arrival in the tropics.

After landing in Tapachula yesterday it was time to rip off the shoes and throw on the flip flops. Charlie Banana was officially back in the Banana Republics.

From day one we’ve traveled from Arkansas and snow flurries, through the crisp and still cool air of Texas, and on to the thick hot heat that is Southern Mexico.

We are about to take off for Liberia, Costa Rica and then on to La Fortuna for the night.

Active volcanoes, waterfalls, and a gravel runway await.
