Living the Dream

by Alex on December 28, 2010

The window seat was and always is prime real estate for me on any commercial flight. I can’t keep myself from staring out the window at all the colors, lines, shapes, and textures on the ever changing landscape. Of course I take photos here and there but always with a point & shoot and always through a window usually resulting decent images but mediocre quality.

As soon as I fully immersed myself in photography nearly a decade ago, aerial images grabbed my attention. I loved the unique perspectives and abstract qualities. For years I have dreamed a doing aerial photography myself and now I am living that dream. As I type we are flying through Nicaragua and have already covered 4 other countries, and I am photographing along the way! Patrick has set up two Nflightcams for video, one on the tail and one in the cockpit. I am shooting with a Canon 60D and Rebel T2i for both stills and video. My arsenal of lenses include a Sigma 10mm Fisheye, Sigma 10-20mm, Canon 100mm Macro IS L, and Canon 70-300mm IS. We have already passed some incredible scenery that you can read about in some of Aaron’s post.

Living the dream…what a blast!!! Pics are soon to come!
